Guided School Tours

Parks Plus Programs are on Wednesdays and Thursdays, September thru May.

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED

Programs fill quickly so reserve early Call 719-219-0108 for reservations. Cost is $2.00 per student. Checks payable to Friends of Garden of the Gods (FOGG) will be collected at the information desk the day of the program.  Credit Cards can not be accepted at this time.

Geology of the Garden of the Gods Park

Discover how giant red rock formations were formed and how to "read the rocks." Start with a multi-media geology presentation in our Gateway Theater, then take a guided walk in the Park. Three hundred million years of geology is packed into your 2 hour visit! Colorado Content standards: Science 4 Benchmark A, Indicators 1, 2, 3.

Scout Program

10:00am - Noon Naturalist/ Wildlife
1:00pm - 3:00pm Geology

Programs include an indoor presentation for about 1 hour that include crafts, then head into park for hike.  Activities are for either Boy Scouts (Cub or Webelos), or Girl Scouts (Brownies and Jr. Girl).

Reservations are required.
